RED NOSE DAY at The Hot Office! £270 RAISED!

posted March 2013

They Baked Something Funny for Money!

On Friday 15th March 2013, our Aylesbury team Nikki & Lucy hosted The Great Hot Office Bake Off. There were 21 cake style entries from the office; all cakes were scored out of 10 in 4 categories, aroma, appearance, texture and flavour.

The winning cake was a Chocolate Glitter Cake (by Nikki's Mum!), followed closely by a Chocolate Brownie, and Billionaire Shortbread. Everyone worked their socks off with their cake entries; some of them were so good you wouldn't believe they were homemade!

Also to add to the comedic value Nikki and Lucy were sponsored to dress up as the 118-118 team [any excuse to dress up!]. This brought a lot of laughter to the office. It was scary how much they suited their perms and moustaches.

A HUGE RED NOSE THANK YOU to everyone who took part in the baking, eating and sponsorship, we raised a total of £270

Hot Office Christmas Party 2012 - Billys Bar still recovering after another legendary night!

posted December 2012

The festive season started with a large bang on Friday 15th December when The Hot Office team & customers descended on Billy's Bar Harpenden to kick-back for Christmas after another great year.

Things were quite calm until about 8.15pm when Luke, James, Lauren, Jo, Nikki & Lucy arrived after a good deal of school-boy error pre-loading! New boy James was a tad worse for wear and spent the next 3-hours spreading the Hot Office love! Luke then (although very incoherent himself) seemed to enjoy telling everyone how James couldn't take his drink.

All the girls were in very high spirits and shock-horror Gemma and Sam actually remained relatively grown up and comprehendible for most of the evening - this is a Hot Office first!

Jo, Lauren, Lucy, Nikki, Sarah, Kirstie & Lisa were hitting the Jager-bombs and this is never good at 9pm! the rest my friends is Hot Office history..........

Thank you very much to our customers who came along and are always great fun (and fortunately very tolerant of the Hot Office staff behavior!).

Needless to say there were a few embarrassing stories the next morning and plenty of 'cover-ups' which we are still trying to get to the bottom of. (It's becoming pretty clear that James made his mark and was at the centre of most of the controversy - we are still discussing the extent of verbal warnings at this point!).

The final words went to James the following morning "NEVER AGAIN"

That signed off another legendary party with plenty of gossip to keep us going .......until the Summer party!

Important Note: At point of going to press 5 people have admitted being sick! (For the sake of customer service & personal embarrassment the perpetrators will remain nameless)

A Bright Start for Bulgarian Orphans

posted November 2012

Our Hot Office Welwyn Garden City team shown here with Carl Smith owner of Roxy Laing Accountants and David Orton owner of Orton Lifts Ltd.

Hot Office Business Centres and many of our customers have come together to support the 'Bright Start for Bulgarian Orphans' Christmas shoebox appeal.

By taking a shoebox, donated by local retail stores and filling them with everyday items, toys and small gifts we can make a huge difference to an orphan this Christmas providing a present on Christmas day that they will never forget.

There are many orphanages in Bulgaria supporting children from babies up to 18 years old and many of the homes survive by relying heavily on donations from their local community and expats residing there.

With your help, support and generosity, we can help these children have a brighter future.

For more information regarding the Christmas present appeal and the ongoing fight to deliver a much nicer life experience please visit A Bright Start for Orphans

Thank you all for your hard work on pulling this together to get these parcels in transit.

Vampires & Zombies on Halloween at The Hot Office!

posted November 2012

Nikki & Lucy, our Aylesbury team came across very strange on Halloween - they were complaining of feeling Zombie-esk when they arrived at work and by lunch-time they were going on about needing some "fresh-blood" around the place!

Absolutely fantastic effort girls, top job on the HOT Halloween pumpkin - Some of the client's (& Hot Office sales team) were cheeky enough to say it was an improvement!

Nikki's effort was well rewarded later in the day when Peter Andre actually started following her on Twitter [we haven't had an ounce of sense out of her since!]

The Hot Office sponsor Michael Jackson & make their mark at Festival on the Field 2012!

posted June 2012

The weather was looking grim and grey but in true Hot Office style (and equipped with waterproofs) we braved the weather to attend our annual 'summer' outing at Sir John Lawes School's Festival on the Field.

Much like many of our other outings, it started as a civilised day complete with are very own badminton and boules tournaments (well done to Jo for organising). As soon as the Pimms started flowing everyone really got into the spirit of the festival (some more than others!): a mixture of live music, cider and excellent company. Let's just say there were a few sore heads the next day.

Maybe we'll have a Hot Office outing where Gemma doesn't spend the budget on Jagerbombs and cider......Not a chance but here's hoping!

The Hot Office team certainly made an impression with the other festival goers by taking to the festival as if it was our very own Glastonbury; dancing and singing in the mud to the four tribute acts; Katy Perry, Queen, Hot Office sponsored Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga. We all agreed that they were the best tribute acts we had ever seen (in a school field in Harpenden!); sounding and looking absolutely amazing.

With what started as a potentially drizzly day, ended up as another Hot Office classic with Kayleigh, Gemma & Sam over-doing the fizzy pop! None of us wanted to go home.

Sam's 'slightly tipsy' display has gone down in Hot Office history and Max has brokered a deal with her to make tea in the office everyday for the next month to make up for her antics.

Gemma hasn't touched a drop since. Happy Days - Roll on the Summer!

Hot Office Christmas Party 2011 - Cocktails, more Cocktails & then alot more Cocktails!

posted December 2011

What started as a nice quiet evening in Mokoko Cocktail Bar [St Albans] on the 17th Dec, ended in some crazy dancing at Bar Meze Greek Restaurant after Gemma from accounts decided to spend the 2012 company budget on Cocktails!

It was a fantastic evening with the whole team deservedly letting their hair down after working really hard throughout last year. New girl Sam made an impact with the rest of the team, donning a mankini towards the end of the night and hitting the dance floor.

Hailed as another legendary night which will be talked about around the office for along time. The Hot Office must have made an impact at Bar Meze as at the end of the night the manager announced that he "loved us" - having said that, I think it was more down to the fact that he can now probably afford to take a long holiday after Gemma went through the entire Cocktail menu - at least twice! (she still denies it!)

Ready Steady Cook comes to The Hot Office to raise money for Breast Cancer Research!

posted October 2011

The Hot Office in St Albans was proud to host a Ready, Steady Cook style event today [11th Oct] in partnership with Pampered Chef to raise money for Breast Cancer Research.

Hot Office Max with his hand picked commis chef Mark Kerrison from NNT Technologies (the Red 'Old' Kitchen) went head-2-head with Hot Office Luke with his apprentice chef Olly Keane from Contrasol (the Green 'Young' Kitchen), donning their aprons to mix up some pretty tasty Mango and Avocado canapes.

Pampered Chefs very own Wendy Jones was on-hand to oversee a good clean fight and of course to keep the boys in order [although there was some food thrown!]

When the food-mixers finally went down and the voting started the Green Kitchen came out easy winners by about 20 votes to 3!! Mark from the Red kitchen commented "Luke & Olly did leave the Mango chutney out of their recipe in error so this was clearly a sympathy vote" (No sour grapes there then!)

It was fantastic fun well supported by the Hot Office clients and most important of all plenty of cash was raised for Breast Cancer Research through donations and the sale of Pampered Chef cooking gadgets & utensils.

Thank you to everyone who attended and donated

The Hot Office go all Strictly Come Dancing!

posted July 2011

Summer madness finally struck on Sat July 23rd at Batchwood dance studios when Cherry, Max and the Hot Office team donned their crop-tops, leg-warmers and glitter for the day to go 'Pop-dancing'!

Popdance is a craze that's sweeping across the nation; essentially once you are appropriately attired (in Max's case in the most embarrassing clothes you can find in your wife's wardrobe!) and the music is chosen, then amazingly the Popdance instructor will choreagraph a complete routine in 3-hours! - that's the theory anyway.

Well Claudia chose Tonight's gonna be a good night by the Black-Eyes Pea's - yes it was all going very well until the music started. We had such a good laugh, mainly at Luke's expense (our Head of Sales).

Max said "well personally I won't be auditioning for Strictly anytime soon, but it has given us some fantastic laughs and created a good bond within the team. Luke is a natural, he professes to be a drummer in a grunge band but I think secretly his real roots are in disco"

Roll on the Christmas Party and remember Keeeeeeeeeeep Dancing!

Embarrassingly you can see the Hot Office Video on YouTube at Hot Office Popdance

& you can get in touch with Popdance to book your very own company team-building event at or call 08444 829 706

Comic Relief at The Hot Office!

posted March 2011

Everyone's in high spirits this morning at our Barclays House centre in Aylesbury with the arrival of Red Nose Day!

Well done to Beckie & Katie who are right in the swing and raising lots of money for charity (that's Beckie, our Aylesbury Captain, dressed as a banana! all quite worrying - although she say's she Fairtrade!).

Another fantastic effort by the girls and clients at the Hot Office Aylesbury centre - they are well on their way to raising £150!

Christmas Party - The Hottest Team in Town!

posted December 2010

The Hot Office team landed in Studio 54 for the night of Sat 11th Dec and were impressively glammed-up and in great form strutting their stuff to hardcore 70s Disco.

Max and Luke had their hands full with 14 'Hot' girls to look after but hey someone had to do it!

Let's say it was an eventful evening with plenty to drink and great entertainment. Highlights on the dance-floor included Saturday Night Fever, Cotton Eyed Joe and Luke's double-time Macarena! I'll leave the rest to your imagination. It was a great night with quite a few bad heads the next day.

PS. Rumour is that Kayleigh didn't stop partying until 4pm! Well there's always one and funny enough's always Kayleigh!

The Cold Office!

posted December 2010

Luke our Head of Sales had a nasty surprise this week [Wk 3 Dec] when he arrived at Spectrum House to find that due to the centre being full he had been moved outside in the frozen wastes!

As always, he took it in his stride and all was going well with his sales calls until some of our residents came out and starting bombarding him with snowballs; we told him it was because they love him really.

Max said "well it seemed to make him work harder to keep warm so it could be the way forward, only problem is that when I need a cuppa I have to shout out of the window to ask him to get the kettle on!"
